Having sold her award-winning business in 2019 that she co-owned with her husband Bernie, Mariessa set her sights on taking time to discover which direction her new path would go. After 14 years in business, it quickly became apparent that in every business, there was always an element of design coupled with the passion for taking a blank space and making it not only functional but beautiful. 

With experience across sectors, Mariessa holds a Diploma of Professional Interior Design from the British College of Interior Design however as you know, certificates are not everything! Experience has been brought about in varied projects both in the residential and commercial sector from fully remodelling coffee shops, to designing space for young children to grown and learn, to transforming home interiors to reach their holiday rental potential. With experience across sectors, Mariessa takes much of her influence from American designers and as such uses simple colour palettes which are airy, streamlined and timeless. Often known for her slight symmetrical pedantic tendencies, this can often translate in her design features. With an attention to detail and a love for sumptuous and opulent accessories that really transform a space, Mariessa allows such elements to enable each newly created space the ability to grow with the changing dynamics of a family or evolving needs of a business
